Dans les zoos ou dans les cirques, l'univers des félins se réduit à une cage ou à un enclos de faible périmétre. Un habitat étroit pour des animaux avides de grands espaces !!! barreaux,panthere.

Ce magnifique félin est menacé de disparition à cause de la destruction de son habitat, de la chasse intensive et de la situation politique instable au Sri Lanka. Un programme européen d'élevage a été mis en place dans les zoos pour tenter de sauvegarder cette espèce. panthere,sri-lanka.

C'est un animal fascinant capable d'effectuer un saut horizontal de 15 m et vertical de 6 m. Sa localisation géographique correspond à celle de ses proies préférées : le bharal (mouton sauvage d'Asie) et le bouquetin. On le rencontre principalement dans les régions montagneuses de Chine, du Népal, de l'Inde, du Pakistan et de l'Afghanistan... Espèce en voie d'extinction, il est chassé pour sa fourrure et pour certaines parties de son corps intéressant la médecine chinoise. panthere,neige.

La tortue panthère porte sur la dossière des motifs qui rappellent ceux du léopard. Elle a tendance à rester à couvert dans la végétation dense. Elle se nourrit de fruits, chardons, figues de barbarie, graminées, champignons et autres plantes sauvages... tortue,panthere,baringo,kenya.

L'espèce est gravement menacée de disparition. Le déboisement effréné des hommes pour développer les cultures du soja et du palmier met à mal son habitat, Ajoutons à cela la chasse. L'adulte est tué pour sa viande, le bébé récupéré pour devenir animal de compagnie. Entre 1999 et 2015, 100 000 individus ont été massacrés ou enlevés ! Outre ce honteux trafic, l'Orang Outang est aussi la victime du réchauffement climatique qui se manifeste par la sécheresse et les grands incendies mais aussi par les pluies diluviennes. Enfin il doit se préserver des prédateurs que sont pour lui le Tigre, la Panthère nébuleuse, le Chien sauvage d'Asie Les jeunes sont convoités par le Python...

Les reptiles sont des animaux à température variable et au corps souvent recouvert d'écailles comme c'est le cas de cette tortue léopard. En rentrant au camp elle à croisé mon chemin. Tous les critères réunis pour une belle photographie: une lumière douce et dorée en fin de journée et un animal fascinant vieux de 200 millions d'années dont nous n'avons pas encore découvert tous les secrets.
