(Scopus umbretta) L'Ombrette est une sorte de petit héron marron, la tête en forme de marteau. Cet oiseau chasse en marchant dans les eaux peu profondes et pêche de petits poissons pour se nourrir. Il vit en couple, mais aussi en groupe de 8 à 10 individus. La femelle pond en moyenne 4 œufs qui sont couvés pendant un mois par les deux parents. Le nid est gigantesque : 1,50 m de diamètre ! ombrette,senegal,okavango,botswana.

(Scopus umbretta) Cet oiseau de couleur brune posséde une tête en forme de marteau. Il vit dans un milieu humide - étangs, marais, fleuves et rivières - se nourrissant de grenouilles et têtards. Son nid, construit en haut des arbres avec de grosses branches, ressemble à une cabane... ombrette,senegal,masai,mara,kenya.

Petit héron marron en quelques sorte , avec une tête particulière rappelant un marteau ( Hammerkopf en allemand , cad tête de marteau ) , l'ombrette surprend tout observateur par la taille tout à fait disproportionnée de son nid d'un mètre cinquante d'envergure . ombrette tanzanie tarangire
