Il s'agit du plus petit hibou observable en afrique australe.Celui ci a été photographié à Satara,au beau milieu du camp.Ce petit hibou peut conserver pendant une trés longue période le méme poste de repos diurne,à condition de ne pas être découvert.Il se nourrit principalement d' insectes. petit hibou africain
